Fish & Oysterbar Julia in Koksijde is a good place to be. And that's no coincidence. Angus Wittewrongel and his team are on hand almost every day to conjure up the best from the sea on your table. All products are absolutely fresh and come directly from all Flemish fish auctions. As the first restaurant in Belgium, the passionate manager buys his products directly from the auction clock after having inspected the rich supply of fish, crustaceans and shellfish on the auction floor himself, with the fishing vessels - still wet from the trip - a stone's throw away. The fish market, Angus knows it inside and out; he is a sixth-generation sprout by now.

Restaurant Julia has also embarked on the path of sustainability. As one of the first restaurants in West Flanders, the owners can proudly call themselves 'Visserij Verduurzaamt' ambassador. This means that they only purchase fish from sustainable fishing vessels, recognizable by the green bar on the auction clock.

Julia has a fixed menu, but it is skillfully supplemented with suggestions inspired by what is found on the market. 'Sharing is Caring' and this principle is also widely observed at Julia's.
