Man and woman in the store and in the kitchen keep a watchful eye on things. Mare Nostrum fish store in Koksijde, that's where it all happens.

We are now the sixth generation and the store has been around for over 100 years. Appetizers, tapas, prepared fish dishes, boiled lobsters, opened oysters (Zeeland, Irish, French ...) with us you are at the right place.

Three times a week I attend one of our country's three fish auctions, Nieuwpoort, Ostend and even Zeebrugge, by far the largest fishing port. I search for vessels recognizable by the green bar on the auction clock. There is irrefutable proof of their commitment to fishing as sustainably as possible. I also want to spread that message in our business. That is why we recently became Fisheries Sustainable Ambassador. At the front door is the facade panel with the QR code that you can scan after which you will see that our certificate is valid."
